1-Vinyl-2-pyrrolidone (NVP), also known as N-vinyl-2-pyrrolidone, is an organic compound with the chemical formula C6H9NO. It is miscible with water, ethanol, ether, and other organic solvents and is easy to copolymerize with other ethylene compounds. It is used in radiation medicine, wooden flooring industry, paper or cardboard industry, packaging materials, and screen ink industry to improve the physical properties of products through the use of NVP.

Application
1. This monomer can be added to the formula of UV curable coatings to form a flexible and hard plastic film. Adding NVP to radiation medical formulas can improve the elongation, viscosity, and other properties of high and low gloss coatings.
2. Wood enhances product performance, improves productivity, and alleviates the pressure on environmental pollution, which is the main reason for investigating the use of scattered coatings in the furniture industry. The addition of NVP to UV resistant coatings used in the wooden flooring industry can provide equivalent physical properties for waxless flooring.
3. UB and EB curing coatings used in papermaking or paperboard generally require low viscosity and high reactivity. NVP meets these standards by improving fluidity and measurement levels, while maintaining good curing characteristics.
